Elle signifie litt\u00e9ralement que les cellules musculaires meurent (se dissolvent) avec l&rsquo;exercice.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le diagnostic de la myosite commence par un examen physique, m\u00eame si \u00ab\u00a0un diagnostic de rhabdomyolyse est g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement pos\u00e9 en mesurant l&rsquo;activit\u00e9 des enzymes cr\u00e9atine kinase (CK), lactate d\u00e9shydrog\u00e9nase (LDH) et aspartate transaminase (AST) dans le s\u00e9rum\u00a0\u00bb. (Valberg, 2002). Sur la base des signes cliniques (entre autres), des tests g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques peuvent \u00eatre effectu\u00e9s pour rechercher une myopathie \u00e0 stockage de polysaccharides (PSSM) ou un d\u00e9ficit en enzyme de ramification du glycog\u00e8ne (GBED). Une biopsie musculaire peut \u00e9galement \u00eatre effectu\u00e9e pour diagnostiquer les causes de la rhabdomyolyse du cheval. (Valberg, 2020)<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bien qu&rsquo;il existe plusieurs formes de myosite, ce trouble a \u00e9t\u00e9 li\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;alimentation et \u00e0 l&rsquo;exercice.<br \/>La quantit\u00e9 d&rsquo;hydrates de carbone dans le r\u00e9gime alimentaire doit \u00eatre r\u00e9duite. Les r\u00e9gimes riches en graisses et pauvres en hydrates de carbone (avec des fibres de qualit\u00e9) ont montr\u00e9 une r\u00e9duction de la fr\u00e9quence cardiaque du cheval et un volume cellulaire plus important qui r\u00e9v\u00e8lent un \u00e9tat plus d\u00e9tendu, ce qui implique un risque plus faible de RER, tout en \u00e9tant capable de r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 la demande d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie (MacLeay et al., 1999).<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Les carences en \u00e9lectrolytes sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement dues \u00e0 un r\u00e9gime riche en c\u00e9r\u00e9ales et pauvre en fourrage, en particulier en ce qui concerne les niveaux de potassium (K) (Pagan, 2009). Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9montr\u00e9 que la suppl\u00e9mentation en sodium (Na) r\u00e9duisait l&rsquo;apparition des sympt\u00f4mes du RER, tandis que la suppl\u00e9mentation en chlorure de sodium (NaCl) et en calcium (Ca) donnait de tr\u00e8s bons r\u00e9sultats.
